John Peter "Pete" Ricketts is the former Chief Operating Officer of Ameritrade . He was the Republican nominee for the 2006 U.S. Senate race in Nebraska which he lost to incumbent Ben Nelson. Ricketts was born in Nebraska City, Nebraska, and now lives in Omaha .Even though Omaha is just about an hour and a half away, and the town of Ricketts is in Iowa's Fifth Congressional District, which is about as red as you get, even in a red state- this ultra right-wing wing-nut has nothing to do with Ricketts, Iowa.
